100 Favorite Albums

This is a standard “if I had to limit myself to 100 albums for the rest of my life…”-type list. Many albums, particularly the ones in the 1990s, were influential to me when they were released and thus persist as important to me. Of course, this is very subjective and I’m not saying that my albums are better than yours, just that I like these a whole bunch.

A few rules I’m following:

Rule #1: no “best ofs” or compilations I’ve made myself. Exception: live recordings and compilations of old blues artists limited to a specific time period).

Rule #2: try to stick to one album per artist. And, yes, albums do still matter in the age of digital music.

Ordered chronologically, subject to my whims, and based not necessarily on artistic merit alone (or at all). You’ll note there aren’t 100 albums yet. Soon!

Links may or may not work due to being generated by a script. It depends on the availability of the album and how it’s listed on streaming services.

This is a work in progress until I die. And maybe beyond if there’s an afterlife and it has good wifi.
