My latest record label obsession has been Locust Music, a label that deals with some really diverse and obscure music. Their Dragons 1976 release is some great post-contemporary free-but-not-too-free jazz. Listening to some of their free MP3s I was also introduced to some neat 60s acid folk and Berekley-esque takes on Indian ragas. One track really stood out, though, from Kill All Vultures. It’s some really thick, syrupy, quirky avant-hip-hop that’s seriously addictive. Take a listen and then go check out some of their other stuff.

You know, I have not so good memories with Indian ragas!!! The case it that one “crazy man” was constantly listening to such kind of music in the Dubai hotel, while I visited the Emirates!!!! It was awful to sleep, ’cause he was my neighbor!!!! This crying shame stopped only after my complaint to the administrator!!!
