Our expected guests this evening

Our expected guests this evening are stuck in Miami after arriving from Costa Rica and missing their connecting flight to Dulles. Great way to end a vacation, huh?: stuck in a hotel in Miami on New Year’s Eve. Bummer.

I must be influencing Huyen’s

I must be influencing Huyen’s musical tastes… last night she had a dream where she was in a store and in the background was Tenor Saw’s “Ring the Alarm” (MP3 here).

I’ve had a pretty productive

I’ve had a pretty productive evening thusfar, for a Friday night. I got home and decided to go shopping for some ingredients and try a new recipe (Farfalle with tomato, fennel, and garlic sauce), work on a site redesign (which I stopped because I started getting design-block), and start a new track (any track that samples both Indian pop and Cannibal Corpse has to be good, right?).

Now I think I’ll watch a DVD, write a Ping, and go to bed.

(uttered this morning in a half-awake state: “I am a chinchilla!”)

A good l’il deal for

A good l’il deal for you bargain hunters longing for the old days of good coupons… use ebates to go through to Barnes and Noble (save 4%). Then use the coupon code DECSALE when checking out to save $10 off of a $40 order. Order two or more items and you get free shipping. Use your Discover card and get another 7% cash back. Pretty sweet deal. My order (after all applicable rebates, etc.) was $44 instead of $65 (and don’t even get me started on list price).

One thing Huyen and I both noticed this trip: we miss having a digital camera.
